The Forgotten Pharaoh

Khasekhemwy is the pharaoh who carved out Egypt's first empire, invading foreign nations and bringing back masses of wealth, as well as slaves. He used them to build in the harsh deserts, creating the world’s biggest mudbrick structure, then, he started building stone pyramids. Five of them. He united the two nations of Egypt and to celebrate this fact, he had the Sphinx carved out at the border, a symbol of the unity of the old foes. This series rekindles a lost world, Egypt when it was so old that records barely survive. The footage is interspersed with scenes from modern day Egypt, frenetic and bizarre, with toaster kettles, camel trucks and key sellers, this is the most entertaining doco-series you will ever see. Plus, it tells the untold story of K for the first time, based on Kyle’s research. It ends with locating the tomb of this enigmatic pharaoh, and it’s untouched. It’s 1300 years older than Tutankhamun’s tomb! Once excavated, it will reshape our understanding of Ancient Egypt.
