Most pyramids contain one shaft which connects the interior chambers to the exterior of the pyramid; this is the regulation entrance shaft. The Great Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid are the only pyramids known to contain other shafts. Their purpose has been debated over time. In this article, I investigate whether these shafts contain evidence of midnight stellar observations. The three shafts in question are the two southern shafts in the Great Pyramid, and the western shaft in the Bent Pyramid. Each shaft aligns with the sun on two dates in the year, as well as aligning with one prominent star each day in that era, with the timing of this stellar alignment wandering at a steady rate through the year. This article shows that on one of the two dates that the sun aligns with each shaft, the target star aligns with the same shaft at a consistently close approximation to midnight.
